Facial Aesthetics - Botox and dermal fillers
"Botox" or botulinum toxin is a simple, non-surgical procedure that smoothens facial lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers are injectable "gels" which can be injected into facial areas to add volume or to smoothen lines caused by overactive facial muscles.

Botox is a purified polypeptide protein that is injected into certain facial muscles to soften lines and wrinkles attributed to overactive facial muscles. The underlying facial muscle is what actually causes the wrinkles you see in your skin and not the skin itself. The target muscles are relaxed for up to 4 months through a series of very fine injections into the muscle itself. Botox injections are minimally invasive and should only be administered by a trained professional such as Dr Thirushan Moodley.

Dermal Fillers are hyaluronic acid gels that are injected into certain facial areas (lips, cheeks, chin, forehead, etc.) to replenish lost volume or soften visible facial lines. Fillers are indicated when a considerable lack of volume is present, dynamic facial lines have evolved into static facial lines or certain facial features need to be enhanced. Dermal Fillers are safe and administered in a non-surgical manner with minimal to no pain upon injections. Effects can range from 12 to 18 months.
